Martin Luther King’s Day of Service is all about giving back to the community! Look below to find out what our Rotaract members thought of this year’s MLK Day of Service!

This was my first time participating in MLK Day of Service with Hands on K-State. They paired us with the Ogden Friendship House of Hope and I had an awesome experience serving them that day! I learned that the town of Ogden has the highest rate of poverty in Riley County and what the House of Hope is doing to meet the community’s needs. We were able to help them by organizing a large storage closet. The Ogden House of Hope has a steady stream of donations that come in and because most of their volunteers are retired, carrying donations in and out of the storage closet can be difficult. Once we had everything organized, the closet was much more accessible and safer to walk in and out of. I enjoyed learning more about a community right next to Manhattan and the ways we can help support it. Overall, I think participating in MLK Day of Service was a success!
